Abstract:

This folder contains the raw data for three Parks Canada seabird datasets which were used in the creation of the following BCMCA features: Seabird Colonies (Ancient Murrelet, Black Oystercatcher, Cassin's Auklet, Common Murre, Glaucous-winged Gull, Horned Puffin, Pelagic Cormorant, Pigeon Guillemot, Rhinoceros Auklet, Storm Petrel, Tufted Puffin) and Semipalmated Plover Nests

Purpose:

The purpose of these datasets are to help inform the marine feature identified at the BCMCA Seabirds Workshop.

Supplemental_Information:

Datasets included: - breedingshorebirds.shp - Known nesting sites for Semipalmated Plover, Killdeer, Spotted Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper, Short-billed Dowitcher, and Common Snipe. - nestingseabirdcolonies.shp (with associated Access database) - Known nesting colonies of Petrels, Cormorants, Glaucous-winged Gulls, Murres, Pigeon Guillemots, Ancient Murrelets, Auklets, and Puffins. - SEPL_shoreline.shp - Coastline known to be used fornesting by the Semipalmated Plover.
